Picking on Downtown: Musicians gather on Elm Street for Old Time Jam Session.
Guitarist Peter May hosted an interest meeting and jam session for blues and old time musicians on August 13 at Essential Hemp on Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. We hope that these Piedmont Pickers Conventions become a regular event, bringing together musicians from different genres to exchange songs and stories.
In addition to the Piedmont Pickers Convention, the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society also hosted the stage at Friday at Five, booking Sonny Miles (below), Big Jim Kohler and Marvelous Funkshun for an evening of blues, R&B and funk.
